Cliff Brown regularly entertains and informs visitors and locals alike with his walks around Bowes Village. On Charles Dickens’ 200th birthday, 7th February 2012, Peter Dixon caught up with him and asked him about the walks and the schools that inspired Dickens to write about Dotheboys Hall. Earlier in the day Cliff had hosted a guided walk in Bowes, with access to Dotheboys Hall (from Nicholas Nickleby) yard. He also gave a talk about the life of the boys at Yorkshire Schools and visits to other important sites around the village.
