Teesdale Open Studios
Browse local art, be inspired by local art, buy local art say the 21 Teesdale artists who are opening their studios selling direct to the public. Teesdale Open Studios, organised by the Teesdale Artists Network, runs from Saturday the 24 October to Sunday 1 November. Teesdale Artists Network is a collection of professional artists based in Teesdale.
Radio Teesdale was delighted to work with The Teesdale Mercury to bring you information about the initiative. Reporter for the Teesdale Mercury, Kaye Jemmison, interviewed five artists in their own studios. Radio Teesdale went along and recorded the interviews. The 21 October edition of the Teesdale Mercury includes Kaye’s article. This special What’s On Programme brings you Kaye’s interviews in full.
Art takes many forms. Interviews feature art lead image consultant Claire Bromley, painter Anne Mason, jewelry maker Emma Gray and hat and fascinator designer Donna Richards. Our first stop on the tour of artists was at the Barnard Castle Newgate studios of Dr Ann Walker. Kaye Jammeson. Artist and Coordinator Ray Landon, talks about the 2009 event.
