Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds are appearing at the Durham Gala on Wednesday 7/10/9. Comic actor Adrian Edmondson (The Young Ones, Bottom) was a teenager when punk arrived – the songs of The Sex Pistols and The Clash were the soundtrack to his life. After a recent boozy lunch in Soho, Ade stumbled into a music shop and ‘accidentally’ bought a mandolin. With Ade on vocals and ‘thrash mandolin’, Fairport Convention’s, Maartin Allcock on guitar and bass, Troy Donockley on uillean pipes and whistles; and Andy Dinan on fiddle, their album Yan, Tyan, Tethera, Methera!, is out now and they’re on the road to have some real fun. Punk songs on folk intruments – genius!
