Alex Ratcliffe talks about the Fitzrovia Radio Hour
The Fitzrovia Radio Hour is set in a 1940s radio studio. It’s a compilation of stories immersed in a radio show format. There is the radio plays, evoking a dinner-jacketed age of casual imperialism and stiff upper lips, the relationships between the radio presenters themselves, a play on words where their meaning has changed over time, sound effect, and plenty of laughs.
The Fitzrovia Radio Hour is a Seabright Productions and is at the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick on Monday 13 February, 7.30pm.
Peter Dixon spoke to Alex Ratcliffe (Ratty) about the company and the show.

Shylock - Guy Masterson at Richmond Georgian Theatre
The Richmond Georgian Theatre open their Spring season on Saturday 4th Febuary with Guy Masterson’s critically acclaimed portrayal of Shylock. One of only two Jewish men in the whole of Shakespeare, throughout history, Shylock has been portrayed in ways which reflected the popular view of Jews: comic villain in Shakespeare’s day; to a victim of racial discrimination nowadays. His has always been a controversial character, but to understand him, one needs to place him in the context of his situation.
Gareth Armstrong’s Shylock honours one of Shakespeare’s finest creations in a performance that celebrates the beauty of language, the power of history and the magic of theatre!
Peter Dixon talks to Guy Masterson about his career and this play.

Adam & Eve - Rebecca Vaughan and Elton Townend Jones.
The Diaries of Adam and Eve at the Darlington Arts Centre 2/2/12.
Relationships: whose idea was that?
One of you wants to get things done, the other wants to chill out in the garden. One of you wants a minute’s peace, the other wants to talk (and talk and talk).
One of you knows that eating that apple is the wrong thing to do, but the other is going to eat it anyway.
Relationships shouldn’t work, but somehow they do. In this witty and modern adaptation of Mark Twain’s affectionate satire, the world’s first couple confront their many differences to find successful ways of living and loving together.
Tempted?
Performed by Rebecca Vaughan (returning following the success of I, Elizabeth and Austen’s Women) and Elton Townend Jones. Directed by Guy Masterson.
