Sue Devaney (born Susan Barber on 2 July 1967) is an English actress. She has played various roles on British television including; Debbie Webster in Coronation Street, Rita Briggs in Jonny Briggs, Liz Harker in Casualty and Jane in dinnerladies. In the early 1990s she appeared in a commercial for the Gateway Supermarket chain (now Somerfield).[1] In 2009 she played the role of Peggy in hit C4 drama Shameless and lent her voice to the role of Jane in Carol Donaldson’s BBC Radio 4 play Normal and Nat. She is currently touring as Jane in dinnerladies.

On Saturday 12th June 650 cyclists set off from John O’Groats to Land’s End as part of the Ride Across Britain event, which is raising money for the British Paralympics Association.

On the 16th June, their fifth day on the road, Brian Ashman caught up with former Olympic rowing champion, and active cyclist, James Cracknell by telephone as they stopped for a well deserved break in Ribchester.

Last month British Cycling launched an online survey to identify what prevents more women from cycling. The survey comes after national figures showed that the number of cycling has dramatically increased in the last year but the gap between male and female participants is widening.

Kez Hedges spoke to Sarah-Jane Gray from British Cycling’s Recreation Team, who are behind the survey, to find out more about it, what British Cyling are currenlty doing to address the inbalance and how people can take part.
