Rua Macmillan : Tyro
Originally from Nairn, near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, Ruairidh currently plays fiddle in the award winning ‘Paul McKenna Band’ – whose debut album ‘Between Two Worlds’ has just been released to great critical acclaim on the Greentrax label – as well as fronting ‘The Rua Macmillan Band’, with Tia Fyles and Adam Brown.
Having been taught by Bruce Macgregor, Alpha Munro, Sharon Hassan, and most notably, Aonghas Grant Snr – the great Left-handed fiddler from Lochaber, Rua has recently graduated with a B.A. Hons (Scottish Music) from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, and has already toured extensively in the UK and Europe, as well as Canada, America and the Faeroe Islands!
Ruairidh has just been awarded the prestigious title of ‘BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2009’.
Part of the Award was to record an album for Greentrax. Tyro is that album!

VIVIEN:
Vivien didn’t study music growing up. She ran out of her only singing lesson when she was 10, because the teacher asked her to sing in an American accent. She’s Scottish, hence running. It all really began when she was 21 and watched a three hour documentary on Dolly Parton’s life and musical journey.
PATRICK:
Hails from a musical family, and from an early age was very musical but it all really started when one day he “hurt his knee” and was in crutches for 8 months, so decided, what the heck, he’d start writing songs.

Alistair Ogilvy is a traditional/folk singer and musician, he was brought up in a village outside Glasgow called Strathblane. With an inherent love of traditional and folk music, he has been involved in the industry for some time now. Alistair is currently living and working in Glasgow’s west end pursuing his career in the traditional music industry.

Bill Adair : Dusty Boots On A Gravel Road
As well as being a fine guitar player BILL ADAIR is one of Scotland’s most respected and busiest singer/songwriters. Combining influences from folk and blues, Bill’s music addresses universal themes of love, work, loss and redemption. Equally at home singing a traditional Scottish ballad, playing blues from the Mississippi Delta or performing one of his own songs, Bill’s performances are complemented by a natural story-telling style that is both thought-provoking and entertaining. From his home base near Glasgow, Bill is in constant demand as a solo singer at festivals and folk clubs all over the UK and has also gained a reputation as an interpreter of the poems and songs of Robert Burns and performs at Burns Suppers throughout Scotland.
